Israel Tour w/family Day 5

Originally we planned on visiting a nature reserve in Hula located in the north however by the time we got there it was raining pretty hard so instead we went to a kibbutz which specialized in making diapers and the transition coating for prescription glasses.  The kibbutz also had a bee farm which they collected honey from to sell at the gift shop.  Later we went out to lunch at a restaurant called Art deCoco which was known for their large breakfasts which included different cheeses, salad, eggs, bread, and a few other breakfast items I can’t remember the name of.

That evening we went to Shabbat services and had a wonderful Shabbat dinner along with 2 members of the synagogue.  (null)

Israel Tour w/family Day 3

Originally we had planned on taking a drive up north to visit Rosh Hanikra but due to the heavy winds, rain, and occasional hail, we changed our plans to something that would minimize the amount of time outdoors.

Our first stop was a town called Zichron Yaakov where we visited Carmen Winery and tried some wonderful Israeli wine. We then made our way to a museum dedicated to the to immigrants who had immigrated to Israel starting in the late 1800s.

After lunch we headed to a town called Ein Hod, an artists’ village just south of Haifa.

Tel Aviv Fun

Originally I had planned on attending an all day workshop on an IoT (Internet of Things) tool called ThingWorx but about an hour and a half into the workshop I was feeling bored so I skipped out right before the lunch break ended and headed to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. My favorite piece was a wood contraption which could be taken apart and turned into different household items like a chair, bed, or table. Kind of reminded me of Lego blocks. That evening I attended a really fun Klezmer concert held at the bus station and there was all you can drink wine! Nothing like a klezmer and wine to finish off the night!

Hello Tel Aviv!

Back in Tel Aviv, found a good falafel restaurant near the hostel. I thought the falafel was really good, even better than what I’ve had in Jerusalem! I found a website which lists the best falafel places in Tel Aviv so we’ll have to see if they truly are the best.
